Welcome to Benalla P-12 College

At Benalla P-12 College we aim to develop in our students a love of learning and instil the core values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity and High Expectations. Our primary goal is to provide an excellent education for every child in every classroom. Each child is known and valued at Benalla P-12 College.

Mobile Phones in Classrooms
School Council has agreed that the use of Mobile Phones in classrooms was no longer acceptable unless it was directly related to the curriculum and under the instruction of the teacher. ALL classrooms will be provided with a plastic tub with a lid for students to place their phones in at the start of the lesson. As students leave the class they will collect their phones under the supervision of the teacher. The next two weeks will be a phasing in time to allow students time to get into the habit of placing their phones in the tub every lesson. This will be fully enforced at the beginning of next year. We appreciate all parents supporting us with this as it will enable classroom time to be learning time and help to lessen the distractions mobile phones can cause.

The Member for North Victoria, Jaclyn Symes, visited the College last week to announce we have been successful in receiving a $200,000 grant from the State Government to build an Inclusive Outdoor Area on the Faithfull St Campus. This area will include state of the art play equipment and a sensory garden to engage students of all abilities. We are very fortunate to have the expertise of one of our parents Francine Stacey, a landscape designer, who has been working with us to help design a very attractive and stimulating inclusive area. This area will be built behind the Gymnasium on the Faithfull St Campus. This will be a fantastic facility for the College community.

Benalla P-12 College is undergoing exciting upgrades that will transform the educational experience of our students.

Our school is part of an $8.5 million Victorian Government building project that will make major improvements to both the Faithfull Street and Avon Street campuses.

Crow Construction from Shepparton are the successful tenders for Stage 1 of our building projects.  They will commence construction by the end of November.

Stage 1 includes:
The Years 10 to 12 Learning Hub
A new state of the art Trade Skills Wing
Reburshipment of the Avon Campus to provide an attractive and pleasant atmosphere where students are nurtured and cared for.
Some minor refurbishment to the Gymnasium at Faithfull Campus to include facilities for a fitness gymnasium and cardio area.

Construction is scheduled to finish in late 2018.

In 2018 classes at Avon Street will be relocated as construction progresses through the school. The expectation that the disruption to be minimal.
