Benalla P-12 College was established in January 2013 as a result of all four schools in Benalla merging to form Benalla P-12 College.
From the commencement of 2014 our school will operate 4 main campuses:
- Avon Street Campus (Yrs Prep-4).
- Waller Street Campus (Yrs Prep-4).
- Faithfull Street Campus (Yrs 5-9).
- Barkly Street Campus (Yrs 10-12).
The Clarke St Campus will remain open with the Hands On Learning and the Years 5 & 6 Bilingual programs operating on this site and the playground will continue to be accessed by students each recess and lunchtime. This campus will also provide much needed office space for staff in the Health & PE Department.
Our Vision is to inspire and support students to achieve their full potential within a learning environment that is engaging, safe, positive, respectful, inclusive and welcoming. We aim to achieve this by maximising the three key stages of learning.
Our Early Years program on the Avon and Waller St Campuses provides students with the foundations for learning in all areas of the curriculum. Our focus is on developing successful learners in literacy and numeracy through a rich learning environment. Indonesian LOTE is taught on the Waller St Campus while Indonesian is taught through a Bilingual program on the Avon St Campus. Both campuses access a highly successful Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.
2014 will see the commencement of the Years 5 to 9 Campus and our focus is on adding depth and breadth to each student’s learning in all curriculum areas. Our specifically designed Year 9 program known as the Year 9 Advisory Program operates on this campus to provide students with the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the community through its community projects. Students undertake individual learning projects incorporating Science, Humanities as well as the Community projects.
The Years 10, 11 & 12 campus also commences this year and will offer a range of VCE, VET and VCAL subjects that will provide students with a variety of pathways to further their learning opportunities. Individual guidance is provided to students when selecting subjects and in helping to choose their career pathway beyond Year 12.
We are very excited about 2014 and what it will bring to the children, young people and families of Benalla P-12 College.
